A Systems-Based Approach to Organizational Work
Keshia Hair, MSW, is the Founder and Principal Consultant of The Workroom Consulting Group, where she partners with nonprofits, small businesses, and civic organizations to strengthen operations, align leadership, and build the infrastructure needed to move important work forward.
Her work sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, helping leaders translate organizational priorities into structures, systems, and ways of working that hold in practice.
Experience That Translates Into Results
Keshia has advised organizations managing budgets ranging from $500K to more than $30M, supporting leadership teams through growth, transition, restructuring, and complex organizational change. She has played a key role in helping organizations secure millions in grant funding and has generated more than $300,000 in new opportunities for partner firms through The Workroom’s ecosystem. Her experience spans operational strategy, organizational design, leadership alignment, implementation, and capacity building.
HER APPROACH
Keshia brings a systems-level perspective to every engagement.
Rather than addressing surface-level challenges, she evaluates the full organizational landscape, leadership structure, workflows, systems, and decision-making processes, to identify where breakdowns exist. From there, she builds the structures needed to support effective execution. Her approach is direct, collaborative, and focused on results. Clients rely on her ability to quickly diagnose issues, provide clarity, and move work forward.
Background
Grounded in Systems, Governance & Practice
Keshia holds a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Communities and Organizations from Saint Louis University. Her training in macro social work informs the systems-level perspective she brings to organizations, from individual roles and leadership structures to institutional systems and broader community ecosystems.
Her experience extends beyond consulting into higher education and nonprofit governance. She has taught undergraduate and graduate social work and human services courses at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, Missouri State University, and St. Louis Community College.
Keshia currently serves as Vice President of Governance for Ready Readers. Her previous board and civic service includes serving as Governance Chair for Eye Thrive, board service with College Kids and Flance Early Learning Center, and service on the City of St. Louis Office of Financial Empowerment Advisory Board.
Together, these experiences have shaped a practice grounded in systems thinking, institutional stewardship, governance, and an understanding of how organizations operate from multiple vantage points.
Keshia’s work is grounded in one belief:
Legacy is leaving behind an institution capable of continuing without you.
